Fritto Misto

Fritto Misto is a gourmet food event that has delighted Piceno territory for a decade.

The event takes place in the splendid setting of Piazza Arringo, the heart of Ascoli Piceno’s old town centre, on the long spring break from 25 April to 4 May, with the aim of promoting frying, one of the most popular cooking techniques in the world, starting with the “oliva ascolana del Piceno”, a Marche gourmet ambassador worldwide.

For ten days the great Palafritto is home to more than 30 delegations of chefs from Italy and abroad offering more than 60 types of delicious fried items, from the most traditional to the most innovative: a menu made up of many types of street food and haute cuisine.

Over the years, the event has become one of the most appreciated nationally and is able to attract tens of thousands of tourists from every Italian region.

In the rich program offered to visitors, in addition to the delights of Palafritto, there are some noteworthy workshops dedicated to pairing Marche fried dishes with wines and craft beers, and courses for children to learn how to make “olive ascolane”, as well as cookery courses, show cooking, and special reduced tickets for visiting Ascoli Piceno’s museums.
