Its territory covers <b>60 square kilometres divided into 54 hamlets<\/b> and has been <b>inhabited since Neolithic times<\/b>, as documented by artefacts \u2013 mainly helmets, axes and spears \u2013 on display in the <b>archaeological museum of Ascoli Piceno<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>The artistic heritage of Roccafluvione is extensive and is characterized by the presence of <b>ancient churches<\/b>, many of <b>Benedictine origin<\/b>, including <b>Santo Stefano Protomartire<\/b>, built in the twelfth century, and <b>Santi Ippolito e Cassiano di Pedara<\/b>, built in the Romanesque style of the twelfth century, at the mouth of the Fluvione gorge, with a distinctive fa\u00e7ade tower that played a defensive role. Inside, the church contains frescoes painted between the twelfth and sixteenth centuries.<\/p>\n<p>The area of Roccafluvione is also rich in fine food resources, like the <b>prized black truffle<\/b>.
